Family Night and famous brothers

For FHE we played a game.
First game: Write A - Z and fill in the letters with something about the other person.
Ex: A - Always Smiling
B - Beautiful
etc.
We got some good giggles out of it.

Second game: We each have $2000 that has to be spent on your spouse. We wrote down what you would buy for them and estimate the costs.

What Derek would by for Amanda:
Camera - $700
3 swim suits, 3 shirts, 1 pair shoes - $300 (I think he forgets I shop at thrift stores...when I shop)
Couches - $600
Humming Bird Feeder - $20
Gift cards to Olive Garden/Zupas - $80
Crafting Material - $300

What Amanda would by for Derek:
Kindle - $120
Flat Screen TV - $600
Real Oakleys - $100
Weekend in Park City - $150
New Suit - $180
Weight Lifting Equipment - $200
Couches - $700

We both thought of things after the game was over that would have been on the list. Derek has been begging for an ant farm. I told him we can get one when we have a child so I don't have to explain to everyone why we have an ant farm. Jk. I secretly want one too. And he thought of a sewing machine. I want one so bad. Not quite sure where the humming bird feeder came from?? It must have come from my obsession with nature and animals.

Also, my brother was in the Charlotte Newspaper! We were super stoked, besides the fact that the article is about letting homosexuals into the military, and under his picture it talks about all of the soldiers saying "yes sir" to the idea of 'don't ask don't tell'.

He is the bald one, in the camo, with the gun. Jk. He is the tall one on the left that is the focus of the picture. Front and center! What a cutie!!
Happy Family Night to you all!

Dreams become reality

You know how I dream of crafting?
Well I finally made it happen the other day!
My sissy Roxanne (she lived with my family when I was younger, we shared a room, therefore she is my sister) and her brand new baby Brecken came up for a visit. It was my first time meeting the little monkey and he is ADORABLE! His eyes are so beautiful. Here is the little Mr.

He is always doing some precious thing with his hands by his face. It's too cute.

Now to the crafting...
I went to my family's last Tuesday to see the babe and Roxy, and to make crafty flowers with them. Well I had a baby shower to get to that night, which I unfortunately didn't end up making it to, but I decided instead of buying a gift, I wanted to be sentimental and make one. I thought a baby wipe cover would be cute. Well in my mind I was thinking I was getting myself into a 1 maybe 2 hour project.
WRONG-O!
It took me from 11:30 AM - 7:00 PM. And I didn't even do the final ribbons I wanted to. But I think it turned out pretty cute.

My family suggested that I should have video taped the whole thing and given it along with the case so they could know how many burns and blisters went into that thing.
It's unfortunate that it seems like such a silly small gift. But really I think that was a bigger gift to myself cause I was finally able to do a little crafting and it was a success! I'm actually excited for more baby showers so I can get better at making fun little things.

I was going to blog a bit more about the camping trip with the Hallsteds, but I start my big 9 hour work day tomorrow so I need my rest.

Goodnight blogging world. Thank you for your inspiration and listening ears.

No Shirt, No Shoes, No Problem! - Jamaica

The Cruise was absolutely incredible!
It was my first cruise, and definitely not my last.
We went to Haiti, Jamaica, and Cozumel.
We swam with dolphins(my life long dream), snorkeled, shopped, and ate like you wouldn't believe.
I literally got 3 starters, 2 main courses, and at least 3 desserts every night.
I gained ONE pound. No clue how that happened. I think my metabolism was just working like crazy. It had no choice! I would have exploded!

Another thing that just might explode is this blog...from so many uploaded pictures.
Extremely out of order. My mother in law with the good camera has many that are on facebook you can check out, but here is a very small portion of the pictures I took. I want to upload videos, but they take forever. So we'll make an effort and you may or may not see them later.
Enjoy!

Sunrise from our balcony in Haiti. It was incredible!

So many options of things to do in Haiti!

So happy Papa was able to come. He is so sweet.

Building sand castles in Jamaica

Funny story: We were all excited about this legit Jamaican, so we were sneaking pictures of him. Well, turns out he was on our cruise. The end.

Jamaica

Matchy tank tops
The boat. It's the biggest in the world. It's unbelievable!

Volleyball game we started on the boat. It was so fun! We didn't know anyone we were playing with.

Woke up early in Cozumel and went to the balcony and saw a little turtle friend!

Super Delish!

Someone left this in the library on the boat. Such a great example.

They had an aqua-theater on the boat with awesome shows. They had divers diving from 70 ft in the air!
Mini golf on the boat
They had a cool acrobat show
Handsome men
I didn't take many pictures of the food cause I was too distracted devouring it, but I did end up with this picture.
We loved dressing up.
Mom and Dad Walker surprised us by having a 22 person cadillac limo pick us up from the cruise!

Weird mannequin
They had the broadway show Hairspray on the boat. It was super awesome.
We would wake up in the morning and read in the Solarium. We had this incredible view.

Taking off on Day 1.
They had an ice skating rink. Awesome skating shows.
In Florida before the cruise
